Two kinds of high-value medical consumables, including orthopaedic implant (spine) and ophthalmic (intraocular lens) products, were collected in Anhui Province. Starting from August 16, 18 provincial public medical institutions in Anhui Province will implement the negotiating price on the principle that the procurement cycle is one year.

Representatives of 55 hospitals and 9 enterprises in Jiangsu signed two purchase and sale agreements for medical consumables. The next step is to explore how to extend the experience of procurement of consumables to pharmaceuticals, and to form an atmosphere of recruiting consumables and pharmaceuticals for extensive alliance procurement.

Shaanxi Province Adjusts the Price of Orthopaedic Implantable Medical Consumables

Recently, Shaanxi Pharmaceutical Equipment Centralized Purchasing Network issued the Notice on the Result of the Dynamic Adjustment of Orthopaedic Implant Medical Consumables, and published 2306 specifications of Orthopaedic Implant Consumables products and price adjustment results.

According to the price adjustment of 2306 specifications of orthopaedic implant consumables, the decline rate was 92%, which was reduced from 350 yuan to 28 yuan for a medical device company in Changzhou. In addition, 62 specifications of orthopaedic implant consumables were reduced by more than 50%.

In addition to price adjustment for 2306 orthopaedic implant consumables, Shaanxi will also start dynamic adjustment for 12 other high-value consumables.

On June 24 this year, Shaanxi Medical Security Bureau issued a Letter on the Dynamic Adjustment of High-value Medical Consumables, which clearly started the dynamic adjustment of 13 categories of high-value medical consumables, such as orthopaedic implants, vascular interventions and neurosurgery, in batches, requiring that the networking price of enterprise products on the procurement platform should not be high. The lowest price in the country.

That is to say, the price of orthopaedic implant consumables has been adjusted. In addition, the price adjustment of 12 kinds of high-value medical consumables, such as vascular intervention and neurosurgery, is also on the way.

Other members of the alliance may be able to reduce prices in tandem.

Shaanxi Province is the leader of the 15 provinces alliance. According to the industry, with the price adjustment of high-value medical consumables in Shaanxi Province, the other 14 members of the alliance or linkage price reduction.

Among them, Ningxia is closely related to Shaanxi, or synchronized with Shaanxi's price reduction action, price linkage. At the beginning of February this year, Ningxia issued a notice that Ningxia shared the data of concentrated purchase of high-value consumables in Shaanxi Province four times from July 2017 to January 2018. After adjustment, the average price of vascular interventional hanging-net decreased by 22.15% and that of orthopaedic implant hanging-net by 27.81%.

In addition to Ningxia, on July 22 this year, Hunan also issued the Notice on Dynamic Adjustment of the Sunshine Hanging Net Database of High-value Medical Consumables. It said that the products and prices of the provinces led by the inter-provincial alliance (Shaanxi Province) would become the adjustment standard for their hanging net products and prices, and the linkage frequency would be adjusted every three months.

It can be seen that with Shaanxi Province's action to adjust the price of high-value medical consumables, other members of the alliance will also slowly keep up with the price reduction measures.
